COVID-19 Guidelines

What to Know Before You Go – Six Ways To Keep Everyone Safe During PMI21

Plumbing Manufacturers International wants to provide the safest environment possible for PMI21 Manufacturing Success Conference and PMI Aspiring Leaders Program participants. With exposure to COVID-19 infection remaining a concern for many, PMI has adopted these Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention guidelines and recommendations:

  1. PMI encourages all those planning to attend PMI21 to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. In addition, booster shots are now available for many – see the expanded eligibility here.
  2. Unvaccinated persons must wear masks in all indoor conference settings, per California requirement.
  3. For vaccinated persons in indoor conference settings, mask wearing is recommended.
  4. For all PMI21 attendees, regardless of vaccination status, masks will be required at airports, on airplanes, and when traveling on buses, trains, taxis, and other transportation. Mask wearing is not required outdoors, regardless of vaccination status, unless an outbreak occurs.
  5. If you experience COVID-19 symptoms during the conference, do not attend PMI21 sessions or activities, and get tested. PMI or Paradise Point staff will be able to direct you to a nearby testing facility. You may view recordings of the presentations that will be made available to all registrants.
  6. If potential COVID-19 exposure to PMI21 participants is made known, vaccinated persons in close contact (within six feet for 15 minutes or more within 24-hour period) to a person testing positive for COVID-19 may continue to participate in all activities, unless they experience COVID-19 symptoms. Wearing a mask will be required, however, and testing is recommended. Unvaccinated persons in close contact should quarantine for 14 days, unless they have tested positive for COVID-19 within the previous 90 days and have recovered and remain without COVID-19 symptoms. Read more about quarantine and isolation from the CDC.

PMI will appreciate everything you can do to keep yourself and others safe! Now, let's look forward to having a healthy dose of sun and fun in San Diego!

San Diego Updates

  • San Diego County reports more than 90% of residents age 12 and older vaccinated with one dose, and nearly 85% fully vaccinated, as of Nov. 10, 2021. The hospitalization rate for not fully vaccinated residents is 12 times higher than for fully vaccinated residents.
  • San Diego County reports an average daily case rate of 16 per 100,000 on Nov. 10. The average daily case rate in the United States was 23 per 100,000 on that date.
  • Because there is still very risk high for unvaccinated persons and moderate risk for vaccinated persons, mask wearing in indoor public settings is still recommended regardless of vaccination status

Will meeting attendees be required to wear masks?

  • With the COVID-19 pandemic still active, the PMI21 Manufacturing Success Conference seeks to provide the safest environment possible for its conference participants. The Paradise Point Resort will of course be complying with this requirement.

For all PMI21 attendees, regardless of vaccination status, masks will be required at airports, on airplanes, and when traveling on buses, trains, taxis, and other transportation.
