Sept. 9-10, 2025
Washington, D.C.

The PMI Washington Legislative Forum and Fly-In will begin with expert presentations on the afternoon of the first day.

Legislation that can have a positive impact on the plumbing manufacturing industry and for which PMI members can advocate include:

  • U.S. Economic and Manufacturing Outlook
Chief Economist will provide insights on key topics such as inflation, trade, consumer prices, housing, commercial real estate, job growth and more and what it means for the plumbing manufacturing industry.

  • Overview of the Energy Department's Wave of Water & Energy Efficiency Rollbacks
The Department of Energy (DOE) proposed a new suite of deregulatory actions that, if successful, will significantly scale back the agency’s Appliance and Equipment Standards Program and have far-reaching impacts on the companies that manufacture, import, distribute, and sell covered products. Learn the latest developments on DOE’s NPRM for faucets and the broader Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA) reforms being considered by Congress.

  • The Reshaping of Environmental Priorities and Policies Under the Trump Administration
An environmental lawyer will discuss the new administration’s efforts to reshape the federal government including a substantial change in federal environmental priorities and policies.  This session will include an update on EPA changes to some PFAS regulations, enforcements, and reporting.

  • Strengthening Consumer Safety Enforcement to Combat Counterfeiting
Hear the latest on counterfeit issues facing the industry and the call for stronger enforcement, transparency, and accountability of online third-party marketplaces by the Federal Trade Commission, required by the Integrity, Notification, and Fairness in Online Retail Marketplaces for Consumers Act (INFORM Act). The INFORM Act is a pivotal measure to safeguard consumers from unknowingly buying counterfeit or stolen goods online.

  • Navigating the Evolving Tariff Landscape & U.S. Trade Policy
This session will explore the evolving trade landscape and its impact on the plumbing manufacturing and housing sectors.  The discussion will also surround what new Section 232 tariffs may be announced, as well as, insights into compliance strategies, supply chain resilience, and opportunities amid shifting global policies.
