Communications

The Plumbing Manufacturers International (PMI) communications team keeps PMI members, allies, policymakers, the media and the general public abreast of the latest industry news and trends through this website and PMI publications, social media and media outreach. Working with PMI members represented on its Outreach/Communications Committee, PMI strives to make its members aware of breaking issues impacting the plumbing manufacturing industry and water sustainability and quality while working to expand its relevance and influence among external audiences.

PMI news releases provide a running narrative of the activities and accomplishments of PMI’s advocacy, outreach and technical initiatives, as PMI continues its support of the EPA’s WaterSense program, calls for revitalizing the nation’s aging underground water infrastructure, educates the public about the risks of Legionella in building water systems, and much more.

PMI’s Ripple Effect newsletter provides members and external audiences an in-depth view into PMI’s activities each month, with regular contributions from PMI’s Board of Directors president, CEO/executive director, and technical director. Ripple Effect also highlights the contributions of outstanding PMI board and committee members, as well as events and major issues and trends. Subscribe to Ripple Effect.

PMI’s news and publication features are amplified via social media platforms on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and YouTube. The PMI communications team continually works to engage with its members, friends and media on social media, so feel free to comment, like and share!

PMI welcomes questions from the media and is happy to arrange interviews with PMI executives and industry experts. PMI is an excellent resource for journalists writing about health and safety issues relating to water and plumbing, such as lead in plumbing and Legionella.
